Overview
HireNow Staffing is partnering with a well-established industrial manufacturer in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area to hire a seasoned Fabrication Welder for a high-priority 1st shift opening.
This role is ideal for an experienced welder who can confidently fabricate and weld from prints, maintain high-quality standards, and work independently in a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will bring strong blueprint reading, layout, and hands-on fabrication experience—not just basic welding ability.

Key Responsibilities
The Fabrication Welder will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components that meet both print specifications and production timelines. Duties include:

Perform MIG welding on fabricated components using fixtures and jigs when available

Lay out, fit, and fabricate steel parts directly from blueprint specifications

Operate fabrication tools and equipment including:

Hand plasma cutters
-
Saws and cutting tools
-
Brake press
-
Deburring and grinding equipment
-

Ensure welds meet quality expectations, structural requirements, and visual standards
-
Maintain consistent production output while meeting standard build times
-
Perform accurate measuring, layout, and alignment for assemblies
-
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
-
Support material handling processes using overhead cranes and steel moving equipment
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for interview:

High School diploma or GED required
-
5+ years of fabrication welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
-
Proven ability to fabricate and build directly from blueprints and prints
-
Strong MIG welding experience (required)

Skilled in layout, fitting, and weld preparation work
-
Ability to read measurements accurately, including:
-
Fractions
-
Decimals
-
Angles
-
-
Proficiency using measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures (to 1/32), squares, and angle finders
-
Experience using grinders, air tools, hand tools, overhead cranes, and steel handling equipment
-
Must be able to pass an onsite weld test prior to placement
Preferred Qualifications (Highly Valued)
