Position Overview
HireNow Staffing is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a nationally recognized law firm seeking a detail-driven and analytically strong Conflicts Research Analyst to join its Cincinnati office. This role is central to safeguarding the firms ethical and professional responsibilities by identifying and analyzing potential conflicts of interest for new matters, new clients, and lateral attorney hires.
The Conflicts Research Analyst will work closely with Conflicts Counsel, General Counsel, and firm leadership to ensure compliance with professional responsibility rules while supporting attorneys in timely matter intake and client onboarding.
This position requires demonstrated law firm conflicts experience and a stable professional background.
Core Responsibilities
Conflict Checks & Research

Develop and execute comprehensive search strategies using the firms' conflicts database (e.g., Intapp or similar systems).

Conduct detailed conflict-of-interest searches for new client matters and lateral attorney candidates.

Analyze search results and prepare clear, concise summaries outlining potential risks and recommended next steps.

Identify corporate affiliations, parent-subsidiary relationships, and related entities through advanced corporate research tools.
Ethics & Compliance Support

Draft engagement letters, conflict waivers, and ethical screen memorandums for internal review.

Assist in implementing ethical walls and monitoring compliance procedures.

Partner with Conflicts Counsel and firm leadership to evaluate complex conflict scenarios.

Apply professional responsibility rules and internal policies to practical conflict situations.
Database Integrity & Process Support

Maintain and reconcile client and matter records within the conflicts system.

Participate in data cleanup initiatives and database integrity audits.

Support ongoing improvements to intake workflows and research methodologies.
Attorney & Staff Support

Respond promptly to attorney inquiries regarding conflict analysis and ethical requirements.

Provide clear explanations of research findings and compliance implications.

Occasionally assist outside standard business hours to meet urgent matter deadlines.
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Candidates must meet all of the following criteria to be considered:

Minimum of 1 year of conflicts experience within a mid-to-large law firm environment.

Bachelor's degree or a clear equivalent combination of education and relevant law firm experience.

Demonstrated familiarity with legal ethics rules and professional responsibility standards.

Hands-on experience conducting conflict checks and performing corporate research.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and analytical reasoning ability.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume legal environment.

Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship needs.

Ability to work in a hybrid schedule in Cincinnati, OH.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Emphasized)
Candidates with the following experience will be prioritized:

Direct experience using Intapp or similar conflicts management software.
